Shem the eldest son of Noah held to be the progenitor of the Semitic peoples.
Ham the second son of Noah held to be the progenitor of the Egyptians, Nubians, and Canaanites.
Japheth a son of Noah held to be the progenitor of the Medes and Greeks.
